Q. I don't want to go through all the pricing options, I just need a standard website for my small business. How much will it cost me?

A. A great many organisations find that the website design packages provide all their requirements in one easy selection. The packages simplify the process of compiling a fully functional site and ensure the site will be well balanced, providing a good experience for your customers.

Q. How long does a website take to complete?

A. Whilst this will always depend on the size and complexity of the site, the usual development time for the Silver Package is slightly under two weeks from receiving the necessary content (text, photographs, logos and information).

Q. If I buy the Gold Package and then find I need more as the project progresses can I change to the Platinum Package?

A. Yes, it is the intention of SharpPlum to be flexible. Whilst the website design packages have a rigid pricing structure this is only for your convienience. During development many organisations discover they require a larger site than the original proposal. This is a natural part of the development process for many "first-time" website projects.

Q. If we want to add a small area to our Bronze package site at a later time, do we need to upgrade to the Silver package?

A. No, this is not necessary. Website packages are as flexible as for those individually quoted. Extra pages or upgrades can be purchased for any site hosted with SharpPlum at anytime.

Q. Are the set menu packages made from copying templates and are they re-used at all?

A. No, they are all unique designs made for, and used for, only one site.

Q. Is it possible to buy a website now and have e-commerce added later on?

A. Yes, this is very common. SharpPlum e-commerce pricing packages are intended to be "bolted-on" to the standard website packages. This makes adding e-commerce facilities to existing SharpPlum sites a smooth procedure.

Q. The exact number of pages we need has not been decided yet. We want to make a start on the website, how can we pay a fifty percent deposit of an unknown amount?

A. This is not a problem. Simply estimate the amount of pages (or any other function of the website) and the project can begin. A payment of fifty percent of the estimated total may be made and the final payment will be adjusted for any increase or decrease when the project is completed.

Q. I have seen a website that is just how I want mine to look. Can you do the same thing for me?

A. Within reason (and the law) this can be achieved. Please be aware that the closest it is legal or moral to come to another site is "similar". Designers are forever being inspired by other designers and this is a healthy part of the industry, stealing a design is not. It is unlikely that your site will have the exact same requirements anyway. Please remember that you are paying for a designer to create a unique look for your own site. A good design will match your needs and so will change from the original as a natural part of the design process.

Q. How do I show you the website I want my site to look like?

A. Simply send the website address (e.g www.nicewebsite.co.uk) in an e-mail. Mention the parts of the design that you particulary like. Another site can be viewed as a useful starting point for the design process. Some design considerations should still be placed into the hands of the designer, as these are the skills that you are paying for.

Q. Do we need to do anything technical ourselves?

A. Not if the Hosting Package is also selected. If the Hosting Package is also chosen, SharpPlum will deal with all issues involved in getting your website on-line and functioning. The only technical skill required is the ability to use e-Mail.
