Q. How long would a quote for a redesign of my website take?
A. Usually one can be prepared by the next working day. Once the website address of the old or unsuccessful design has been received the files and underlying code can be viewed. A quote to redesign a website is both quick and accurate.
Q. The old site is already with a hosting company, can a redesign still be done on it?
A. Provided full access can be obtained for the entire site, this need not be a problem.
Q. Can just a few alterations be made to some of the old site?
A. Not always, this must be approached with care. Any code written or files produced by the original authors and designers will most likely belong to them. Unless they grant permission or sign away their rights to the content it is unlawful to alter their unique work. Fortunately any content provided by the organisation (including the logo, written text and photographs) can be used freely, and this is usually the content that requires changing most often in a slight redesign. This is not an issue with a full website redesign as the old design is almost always replaced.
Q. Can we add more areas in to the new website than the old design had?
A. Yes, just send in any new content at the beginning of the project and it can be incorporated into the new website design. There may be an additional charge for this if the increase is substantial.
Q. Are website redesign packages lower quality in any way to a normal website design?
A. Not at all. All of the underlying code is usually rewritten in order to comply with recent regulations (hardly any sites older than a few years are inline with modern coding guidelines). Also the graphical files in a redesign are freshly made and the most important aspect, the design concept, is entirely unique for each website.
Q. Can a redesigned website be hosted with SharpPlum?
A. Yes, the website itself poses no problems. If the original website address is to be reused the previous hosting company must be contacted to arrange a tranfer. Please check with your hosting company regarding domain transfers.
Q. Does transfering the old web address take time?
A. The official change over is instant. There is nearly always a notable change-over period with some internet servers around the web still pointing to the old sitespace. It can take some weeks for all the servers around the world to update themselves and point to the new website. It is recommended during this period that the old site space remains available to visitors.
Please consider sending an e-Mail outlining your website redesign needs. A timely reply will be provided.
